ROLE: Sourcing & Packaging Project Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing & Packaging Project Lead with a passion for food to join us at Genius.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be joining us at an exciting time as we drive forward our ambition to help everyone suffering from gluten related symptoms to live a life of symptom free deliciousness.
We are currently transforming our Procurement function to drive value across our business. To achieve this, we are on the look-out for an enthusiastic individual to work within our procurement team in strong collaboration with our NPD, Technical, and Marketing departments.
Our ideal candidate is someone with FMCG procurement experience, looking to take full ownership of the packaging category as well as develop into other areas of spend, or someone with experience in packaging development looking to develop into a procurement role whilst maintaining a strong link to development projects.
You will be joining a small team and it is imperative that you are self motivated, curious, with a desire to learn and collaborate. You will take ownership for the Packaging category and support the wider team with packaging development projects, proactively look for opportunities, keep up to date on new products and market trends, and play a key role in ensuring our product arrives in our customers homes looking and tasting it’s best.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business,
• Support NPD and Marketing to deliver fit for purpose packaging solutions aligned with project timelines,
• Support development of procedures aligned with procurement best practice,
• Lead category strategy development and drive implementation,
• Identify new suppliers, benchmark, and negotiate pricing and contracts,
• Proactively mitigate risk and identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the supply chain,
• Act as an escalation point for supplier issues,
• Keep system data up to date and accurate,
• Provide support and cover for raw materials and material supply.

Experience
Essential
• Proven experience in a procurement or packaging development related role,
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint,
• Efficient and confident in analysing data in Excel. Able to evidence assumptions with data, interpret results and provide recommendations to senior stakeholders,
• Experience working in a fast moving environment with changing priorities,
• Experience managing projects and delivering efficiently to deadlines.
Desirable
• Previous exposure to FMCG,
• Experience working with SAP,
• Excellent understanding of packaging requirements, experience leading print and specification qualification within operations, • Good technical knowledge of packaging, specifically paper and flexible plastics and their manufacturing processes,
• Understanding of packing operations.
Benefits
• Salary between £30,000 and £40,000 depending on experience
• Pension etc. 4% employers contribution based on the employee contributing 4%,
